I bought Mush Mush sight unseen in September 2008.... He was advertised as an unraced 3 year old (clever people should learn to read freezebands), and was in quite a bit of a mess by the time he got to me.... Very underweight, with terrible feeet (I was particularly worried about his offside hind, it didnt look right from day one - I'd later find out how bad it was) ..... Not that I cared, I was prepared to give this guy the attention he deserved.

After 2 weeks, Mush Mush (Huey's) whole expression changed. He stopped looking defeated and depressed, and started to get the spark back in his eye, and in his step....

It took me close to 7 months, but............. Huey is FINALLY UNDER SADDLE! Here's a brief walk down Huey's memory lane - so we can see just how far he's come....

This is they picture the sent me of him, after I sent an email enquiry about him. Sad I wasn't really looking for another, but this pic SEALED it. He was gonna be mine.

2 weeks later - we had to take a huge chunk of hoof due to a nasty case of seedy toe/wall separation. We'd cut more away later

Late November, he was looking fantastic! But his hoof still had a long way to go....

January, he was looking even more fantastic, and was sound enough to work without the weight of a rider

TODAY, close to 7 months after his arrival - His hoof is almost there, he's sound, and he's just a doll! Never put a foot wrong!! I did a couple of 'test mounts', and pretty much swung straight up into to saddle.... He did a short workout in the roundyard. Walking and trotting to either direction. He was fantastic.... (Will get a pic under saddle soon, but this is just to show how damn BIG he is, hahahahha) I'm very very proud of him.

From what I can tell, he spent 12 months with the same trainer. After that, he did 1 race with a new trainer, then nothing. I assume he went to the sales, and was picked up by the people I bought him from..... They had no clue about his history, and the story kept changing ... But he's safe now, and that's the main thing Smile
